These Terms & Conditions govern purchases made through Simple Legumes and the use of the website simplelegumes.com.

Please read these Terms carefully before placing an order. By placing an order through the website, you agree to these Terms to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any mandatory rights that you may have as a consumer under applicable law.

Products

Simple Legumes currently offers printed cookbook editions, including:

Product photographs, mock-ups and illustrations are provided to help describe the products. Minor differences in colour, appearance, print positioning or finish may occur as a result of printing processes, screen settings or manufacturing tolerances.

We make reasonable efforts to ensure that product descriptions and other information displayed on the website are accurate.

Digital Edition

The digital PDF edition of Simple Legumes is offered separately from the printed editions.

Digital purchases are processed through Paddle, which acts as Merchant of Record for the digital transaction.

Payment processing, applicable taxes, invoicing and certain consumer rights relating specifically to the digital transaction may therefore also be governed by the terms presented to the customer during the Paddle checkout process.

The Digital PDF is not automatically included with a Paperback or Hardcover purchase unless this is expressly stated on the relevant product page or checkout.

Digital products are licensed for the purchaser’s personal use only and may not be reproduced, resold, redistributed, uploaded publicly or shared with third parties except where permitted by law.

Prices and Currency

Prices for printed products are displayed and charged in United States dollars (USD).

Prices may vary depending on the delivery country or pricing region.

The final price applicable to an order is the price shown to the customer before the order is submitted for payment.

For printed books, standard shipping may be included in the displayed product price where expressly stated on the website or at checkout.

We reserve the right to change prices for future orders at any time. A price change does not affect an order that has already been accepted.

Regional Pricing

Simple Legumes may use regional pricing based on the destination country.

An initial regional price may be displayed based on location information available to the website. The final applicable price may be determined by the shipping country selected during checkout.

If the shipping country changes during checkout, the price may also change before payment is completed.

The customer will always be shown the final amount to be charged before confirming payment.

Placing an Order

To place an order, you must provide the information requested during checkout, including accurate contact and delivery information.

Before submitting the order, you are responsible for checking:

By submitting an order and completing payment, you make a binding offer to purchase the selected product.

The sales contract is concluded when the payment is successfully accepted and we send an order confirmation to the email address provided during checkout.

You should retain the order confirmation and receipt for your records.

Payment

Payments for printed products are processed securely through Stripe and supported payment methods made available through Stripe.

Depending on your country, device and transaction, available methods may include credit or debit cards, Apple Pay, Google Pay, PayPal and supported local payment methods.

Simple Legumes does not receive or store your full payment card number.

Payment must be successfully authorised before an order can be processed for shipment.

Availability

Products are offered subject to availability.

We do not intentionally accept pre-orders or backorders unless this is expressly stated on the website.

In the unlikely event that an ordered product becomes unavailable after payment, we will contact you and refund the affected amount using the original payment method.

Shipping and Delivery

Printed books are shipped from the Czech Republic.

We generally use FedEx Priority for international shipments.

Estimated delivery times shown on the website are estimates only. They are not guaranteed delivery dates.

Delivery times may be affected by circumstances outside our reasonable control, including:

Tracking information will normally be provided after the order has been dispatched.

Delivery Address

You are responsible for providing a complete and accurate shipping address.

If you discover an error before dispatch, contact us as soon as possible at support@simplelegumes.com.

We will make reasonable efforts to update an address before dispatch, but we cannot guarantee that a change will be possible once fulfilment or shipment has started.

Additional costs caused by an incorrect or incomplete address may be charged to the customer to the extent permitted by applicable law.

Risk During Delivery

Where consumer protection law applies and delivery is arranged by us, responsibility for the goods remains with us until the goods are delivered to you or to a person designated by you, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

If an order appears to be lost in transit, please contact us so that we can investigate the shipment with the carrier.

Customs, Import VAT, Duties and Fees

Shipping is included in the price shown at checkout. Simple Legumes does not collect import duties, customs taxes, brokerage fees, or customs clearance charges. Depending on the destination, local customs authorities or the carrier may apply such charges upon import or delivery.

Unless expressly stated otherwise during checkout, such charges are not collected by Simple Legumes and may be payable by the recipient upon import or delivery.

The customer is responsible for complying with applicable import rules in the destination country.

We cannot control charges imposed by foreign customs or tax authorities.

Changes and Cancellation Before Dispatch

If you wish to change or cancel an order before it has been dispatched, contact us as soon as possible at: support@simplelegumes.com

We will make reasonable efforts to accommodate the request.

Once an order has been dispatched, cancellation may instead need to be handled as a return or statutory withdrawal where applicable.

EU/EEA Consumer Right of Withdrawal

If you are a consumer entitled to the statutory right of withdrawal under applicable European consumer law, you generally have the right to withdraw from an eligible distance purchase within 14 days without giving a reason.

For goods, the withdrawal period generally expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a third party designated by you other than the carrier, receives the goods.

To exercise the right of withdrawal, you must inform us clearly of your decision before the withdrawal period expires.

Returns Following Withdrawal

If you validly exercise a statutory right of withdrawal, you must return the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days after informing us of the withdrawal, unless applicable law provides otherwise.

You are responsible for the direct cost of returning the goods unless:

Goods should be packaged securely to avoid damage during return transport.

The absence of the original packaging does not by itself prevent the exercise of a statutory withdrawal right.

Refunds Following Withdrawal

Where a statutory withdrawal right applies, we will reimburse the payments required by applicable law without undue delay and, in any event, within the legally required period.

We may withhold reimbursement until:

Refunds will normally be made using the same payment method used for the original transaction unless another method is expressly agreed.

You will not be charged a fee by us for receiving the statutory reimbursement.

Reduction in Value of Returned Goods

You may inspect a product in the same manner as you reasonably could in a physical shop.

Where permitted by law, you may be responsible for any reduction in value caused by handling beyond what is necessary to establish the nature, characteristics and functioning of the goods.

Damaged, Defective or Incorrect Products

These procedures do not limit any statutory rights you may have.

Legal Guarantee and Consumer Rights

Consumers purchasing goods in the European Union benefit from mandatory legal rights relating to conformity of goods.

For eligible consumer purchases, these rights generally include a minimum two-year legal guarantee for goods that are defective, do not match their description or otherwise fail to conform to the contract.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, remedies may include repair, replacement, a proportionate reduction in price or termination of the contract and reimbursement.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or reduces these mandatory rights.

Returns Outside a Statutory Withdrawal Right

Returns that are not covered by a mandatory statutory right are governed by our Refund Policy.

Any voluntary return policy we offer is in addition to, and does not replace, statutory consumer rights.

Digital Content and Withdrawal Rights

Different rules may apply to digital content.

Where permitted by applicable law, a consumer’s statutory withdrawal right for immediately supplied digital content may cease once supply has begun where the consumer has expressly consented to immediate performance and acknowledged the resulting loss of the withdrawal right.

The specific terms applicable to the Digital PDF purchase, including any applicable consent relating to immediate digital delivery, are presented during the relevant Paddle checkout process.

Intellectual Property

All content associated with Simple Legumes, including but not limited to:

is protected by applicable intellectual property laws unless otherwise stated.

Purchasing a book or digital edition does not transfer ownership of the intellectual property contained in it.

Content may be used for personal, non-commercial purposes.

Unauthorised reproduction, commercial distribution, resale of digital files or publication of substantial parts of the content is prohibited except where permitted by law.

Website Information

We make reasonable efforts to keep website information accurate and up to date.

However, occasional typographical, technical or display errors may occur.

If an obvious material error affects an order, we may contact you before fulfilment to resolve the issue. If the order cannot reasonably be fulfilled as agreed, we may cancel the affected order and issue a full refund.

Nothing in this section affects mandatory consumer rights.

Website Availability

We do not guarantee that the website will always be uninterrupted or error-free.

We may temporarily suspend or modify parts of the website for maintenance, security, technical reasons or other legitimate operational purposes.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by applicable law.

To the extent permitted by law, Simple Legumes is not responsible for losses caused solely by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms excludes any mandatory remedies or protections available to consumers.

Alternative Dispute Resolution

We encourage customers to contact us first at support@simplelegumes.com so that we can attempt to resolve any issue directly.

If a consumer dispute arising from a purchase or service contract cannot be resolved by agreement, consumers may be entitled to use an out-of-court alternative dispute resolution procedure.

Governing Law

These Terms and contracts for physical products sold by Simple Legumes are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, subject to mandatory consumer protection rules that may apply to you.

If you are a consumer residing in another country, this choice of law does not deprive you of any mandatory consumer protections that apply under the law of your habitual residence.

Any dispute will be handled by the court or other competent body determined under applicable law.

Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid, unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
